Ted Batkin
Ted A. Batkin is President of the California Citrus Research Board.  Batkin is a fourth generation California grower with extensive experience in association management as well as production agriculture.  He was named Board Manager of the CRB Program in 1993 and became President in 1996.  Batkin has held numerous high-level leadership positions both within California and nationally.  He currently serves as co-chairman of the California HLB/ACP Task Force, co-chairman of the California Invasive Pest Coalition, Member of the University of California Presidents Advisory Commission, Member of the USDA Citrus Health Response Program (CHRP) Council, founding member of the Specialty Crops Research Team (SCRT), founding member of the Specialty Crops Regulatory Initiative (SCRI), member of the UC Riverside Chancellor’s Ag Advisory Committee, chairman of the UC/USDA/LANL (Los Alamos National Laboratory) Plant Disease Coalition, and member of the UC IPM Exotic Pest and Disease Committee.  Previous positions include co-chair of the National Plant Board Review of the APHIS PPQ Safeguarding System, founding member of the Governors Exotic Pest Eradication Task Force, production ag representative to the President’s Invasive Species Advisory Committee, member of the California Food Biotechnology Advisory Committee, chairman of the California Commodities Committee, Statewide Medfly Action Coordinator for the California Ag Issues Forum, and member of CDFA Pest Management Committee.
